Ashantigold shared points with WAFA at Sogakope in the Ghana Premier League Match day 8 today Wednesday 18th April, 2018. 

After dropping a valuable point at the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park to Liberty Professionals last week in the GHPL matchday 6, Ashgold has not played any game having matchday 7 with Aduana Stars postponed .

Coach CK Akonnor came to Sogakope very optimistic and determined not to share or drop points.

Meanwhile, he made five major changes to the team that started with Liberty Professional. Unfortunately Amos Addai could not make it on the team today.

The game commenced with a clear intentions WAFA would not take it easy with Ahgold as they take possession quickly. in the 3rd minute, Richard Danso takes a powerful drive into Ashgold goal but George Owu got it covered.

Ashgold had couple of chances in the first half but could not convert it to a lead. The first period of the game ended goalless

Ashgold conceded a foul in the 59th minute inside the box which led to a penalty. Penalty taken by Umar Bashiru and it was converted it to the first goal of the game for WAFA.

In the 70th minute, James Akaminko makes a cross to locate Douglas Amaning and he proceed to the goal of WAFA. Amaning was brought down by Mohammed Alhassan and Latif Yusifu just at the line before the box.

Free kick was awarded to Ashgold and was perfectly taken by the Ivorian national, Richard Dali Ella Djodi to secure the equalizer.

Ashgold equalized in the 72nd minute. The games ended 1-1 draw adding 1 point to Ashgold’s.
